Brittany’s blog has become a major obsession of mine ever since I found her. Her style is so perfect and I feel like her blog speaks to me when it comes to baby products as well! This girl is serious perfection.

Emily Gemma (The Sweetest Thing Blog)

IG: @emilyanngemma

I’ve mentioned Emily’s blog before as an inspiration for the initial reason why I started my blog in the first place. I would be lying if I said I hadn’t had dreams of owning everything in her closet. She styles the most beautiful outfits and makes it look so easy!

Eleni (Convey the Moment)

IG: @conveythemoment

Her blog/IG/Youtube is a new found treasure for me. Her style is not necessarily similar to mine, but it makes me want to branch out more into the boho world. Plus – she’s also pregnant so styling a bump has become a new challenge for me. Seeing what and how she takes advantage of her cute bump gives me so much inspiration!

brush cleansing

I have come across a new product that I am LOVING and wanted to share my updated makeup brush cleaning routine!

You can view my old routine here to compare.

The product I am now using is actually Dawn dish soap products!!!

Follow these steps and I guarantee you will be super satisfied with the outcome. Lets get started

Products you will need:

Dawn Dish Soap (any type)

Dawn Platinum Erasing Foam Soap

Any type of dish/container that can hold your brushes upright

Sigma Express Cleaning Mitt

A towel to lay the brushes on for drying

brush cleansing

Step 1 – Put a bit of water in one container and put a drop of dawn dish soap to let your brushes soak in for approximately 5 minutes

*tip* only get the brush bristles wet – do not let the area where the bristles are attached to the brush get wet. This will cause your brushes to wear down.

Step 2 – Use your Sigma Express Cleaning Mitt and pump a little bit of the Erasing Foam onto the mitt. Swirl your brush in circular motions and rinse makeup away as needed until the water is clear and you can see the brush is no longer holding onto product.

Step 3 – Pat dry, and lay flat on a towel to dry.

That’s it! Hope you all enjoyed this post.

Year round I go through different foundations adjusting to what my skin needs. In the winter, like most Manitoban girls find themselves becoming pale and start reaching for those lighter shades at the foundation counter. In the summer I tend to look for something a little more light weight, and I need less coverage.

These foundations that I’m sharing today are my go-to for the different seasons. I hope you enjoy this post!

There is a mix of product here that I have used, and some that I’ve never tried before that I’m really excited about.

So let’s get into the details. What did I purchase?

Preparing for a trip is so damn stressful! My mind always runs a mile a minute the day before and the day of travel. It’s always “what did I already pack? what am I missing? I know I’m forgetting something..” then rambling off the list I made about a week prior to leaving so I would eliminate the risk of forgetting something. This brain of mine goes into panic mode when prepping for a trip!

Last week my husband and I travelled to Vegas for the first time ever!!

Here are some of my essentials for travelling:

#1 – Headphones. This needs to be everyone’s number one. (OTHER THAN YOUR PASSPORT)

#2 – Snacks. I usually throw a couple of granola  bars into my carry on or my purse before the flight. You never know when hunger will strike.

#3 – Gum. Two reasons: Good breath & to help pop your ears!

#4 – A Blanket Scarf/Poncho. This will keep you warm on the plane! wrap yourself up in it like a blanket and you are good to go.

#5 – Extra pair of socks. My feet are always freezing, regardless of what I’m doing so having an extra pair of warm socks are perfect for a flight.

#6 – Hand Sanitizer. I’m not sure what it is about planes but I become a huge germophobe the second we board. Maybe it’s the gross stale airplane air we are all forced to breathe.. I don’t know. But I find most airplanes are just gross.

#7 – Evian Water Spray. This has been something I carry in my purse during the hot summer days as well as every time I travel. It is a water mist in a bottle. Perfect to cool you down in the summer, keep your face feeling fresh on the place, and the best part.. it doesn’t ruin your makeup. It is also airplane safe so you can throw it in your purse/carry on. You can get these at Sephora, and you get two bottles for $16.
